“I was struggling with perimenopause symptoms and wanted more time to discuss my options. The GP here listened, ran the right tests, and started me on HRT within a fortnight. Three months later, I feel like myself again.”
Frequently asked questions
Perimenopause typically begins in your mid-40s, but symptoms can start earlier. If you are experiencing changes to your periods, mood, sleep, or energy, it is worth having a conversation regardless of your age.
For the vast majority of women, the benefits of HRT significantly outweigh the risks. Body-identical HRT, which we prescribe at AtWell, has an excellent safety profile. Your GP will discuss your individual risk factors and help you make an informed decision.
In most cases, menopause is diagnosed clinically based on your symptoms and age. Blood tests are not always necessary but may be helpful for women under 45 or those with complex histories.
Many women notice improvements within 2-4 weeks, particularly with hot flushes and sleep. Full benefits typically emerge over 3-6 months as dosage is optimised.
